  • Charity Show 2024

    We are very excited to announce our venue for this year’s charity show Melton Theatre. This is a fantastic venue where are stage classes, many former pupils and not forgetting the world-famous Dixon Woods ‘Dream boys’ are performing for Heart Link and chosen cancer charities in a charity show. Tickets will be priced £15.00 and will be available in July. This will be a sell-out performance as always and not to be missed.

  • Tumbling Session

    We have organised an opportunity to hire the facilities of a gym club in Leicester on Sunday 7th April 11am to 1pm. This will give pupils a chance to work on their skills and confidence with tumbling. Please see Gary if you would like to attend, as places are limited. This is for pupils who take Acro classes age 7+. The cost for this session will be in the region of £15.00 per person, dependant on numbers.

  • Show DVD's on sale

    Our Annual Show is finished, but not fogtten. If you would like to order a show DVD, please see Gary in the office. Cost is £20.00 (Cash Only).

    We have a handful of tickets remaining for Tuesday 20th Feb for our Annual Show.

  • Christmas Break

    Dancing will close after classes on Monday 18th December and reopen on Thursday 4th January 2024.

  • Tickets On Sale!

    Tickets for our Annual Show 2024 can be applied for by Dixon-Woods pupils using the order form, available from Gary.

    ** Please note Thursday, Friday and Saturday matinee are now sold out **

    There are no restrictions on the number of tickets each pupil can request, with the exception of Friday night, which is limited to a maximum of 5 tickets.

    Ticket requests must be handed in, in an envelope clearly marked “Ticket Request”, to Gary by 25th November at the latest, to be included in the first allocation of tickets.

    All pre-ordered tickets will be distributed by 16th December, and all remaining tickets will be on sale from this date, sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Dixon-Woods Uniform

    If you require any items of uniform, please order with Gary. We now also have hoodies available to order, along with jackets, tops, shorts and leggings.

  • November Exams

    Congratulations to all pupils who took an exam in November, results were exceptional once again. A special mention to Eva Baines for achieving the highest mark of 96% on the day.

  • Latest news - Nov '23

    Gary has unearthed an old documentary all about the roots of Dixon-Woods School of Dance.

    “The Beat Goes On” was made for local cable TV back in 1993 featuring many of our former pupils. You know who you are!

  • Annual Show 2024

    We are excited to be planning our next annual show which will be at Countesthorpe Leysland College 20th – 24th February 2024, inc. Please note this is during the half term break. All pupils take part in the show which is the highlight of our year, and it will be great to see the children performing doing what they do best. Please tell family and friends to put the dates in their diary. Class 1-3 are rotated and do not appear in every show, performance rota`s will follow in due course, however acro/stage class pupils do appear in every show.

    Attendance for classes is very important, as we prepare for our annual show. If you are unable to attend, please let us know in advance where possible by email michelledixonwoods@yahoo.com as all pupils are an integral part of the routines. If your child attends Acro classes, please ensure they are wearing correct dance attire and hair is neatly in a bun as we will be working on tricks/lifts for the show.

  • Christmas 2023

    Santa will be visiting dancing on Saturday 16th December, so please come with some festive cheer. Dancing will close after lessons on Monday 18th December and reopen on Thursday 4th January 2024.

  • Exam Results - September 2023

    Well done to all pupils who took an exam in September, we received exceptional exam results once again, congratulations to Emily Boorman, Addison Hall and Ruby Taylor for achieving 98% the highest mark of the session. Good luck to all pupils taking an exam in our final session this year.

  • Success

    Well done to Williow Adamson, Amelia Cooper-Jones, Molly Purnell and Darcie Purple who recently performed in School of Rock at the Little Theatre, we enjoyed watching you rock out. Good luck to Miss Leanne and pupils appearing in Matilda at the Sue Townsend Theatre in November and Maddie Ashley, Charlotte Gallagher and Ruby Taylor for their upcoming shows (Nativity and Jack and the Beanstalk).

  • Show programme photos - 13th January 2024

    Class photographs will be taken at dancing on Saturday 13th January. All pupils must be in exam wear (black leotard/catsuit). All girl’s hair must be in a bun (no fringes) and no nail varnish or jewellery. Boys plain white t-shirt and black trousers/leggings. Stage class pupils will also require their full Dixon Woods tracksuit. Any questions, please speak to Gary.

  • Halloween Dress up - 28th October 2023

    If the children wish to dress up or wear Halloween make up on Saturday 28th October, come with some spooky spirit. Please make sure you can still move in your outfits.

  • 10th October 2023 - Leicester BTDA Novice Competition

    Congratulations to all pupils who competed in the competition. We won an astounding 20 sections out of the 24 we entered which is an outstanding achievement. Congratulations to the following pupils who won a trophy for highest marks in their age group: - Daisy Moore, Margo Williams, Darcie Purple, Ruby Taylor, Ava Parish and Lizzie Towers.

  • Knighton Fete

    Sunday 3rd September 2023

    Our Junior/Inter and Senior stage class will be performing a selection of routines from the show, opening the Knighton Fete.
